Installing Pergo Over Carpet

If you re laying pergo over concrete remove all carpet trim and other things covering the sub floor to expose the concrete underneath.

Pergo hardwood must be installed above grade. No glue no nails no mess. Pergo will not fit under door. Some pergo laminate products feature attached underlayment.

Since carpet is usually plush and soft your laminate flooring would not have the support it needs to keep the locking system sturdy. You can re install the molding afterward or install a pergo shoe molding that matches the floor.

Homeowners may not want to go to all the trouble of tearing up carpet and padding. Why not just tear up the carpet. If you are using more than one sheet of plywood tape the sheets together at the seam. After removing the shoe molding pergo fits close to the baseboard.
