I would hazard a guess that if the cable comes from a dish already and assuming isnt damaged in anyway that it is adequate. The old tv plug would fit on any old bit of coax and i have for a short patch lead used 50 ohm cable however with the plugs and sockets used for satellite if wrong cable is used you can t get the plugs to fit on the cable.
